Founder and Principal
A multiple-award winning journalist, Fabian Dawson is an internationally acclaimed author, filmmaker and media expert. His work over the last three decades spans the globe and he also serves as a consultant/strategic advisor to a variety of international companies. Dawson was named the 2019 recipient of the Bruce Hutchison Lifetime Achievement Award at Jack Webster Awards, which is one of the most prestigious journalism accolades in Canada. As a journalist, Dawson’s work has taken him all over Asia, Europe, North and Central America. His work, particularly in India, has led to the creation of four documentary films and a made-for-TV movie.He has been cited for excellence in journalism multiple times by the Jack Webster Foundation, the Canada National Newspaper Awards committee, Daniel Pearl Award jury in New York and the Rolls Royce Commonwealth Award judging panel n London. He is also a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. Dawson has been invited by the governments of India, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and the United States to act as a media observer/advisor on a variety of Asian-Canada issues.
Shawn is a veteran PR consultant specializing in reputation, issues & crisis management, media training, and strategy. He works with a number of clients in food production, industry association, energy & resources, real estate, recycling, and the non-profit sector. Prior to striking out on his own three years ago he spent 13 years handling media relations for TELUS. As TELUS’ national social & media relations director he was the company's senior media spokesperson and was responsible for issues & crisis management; managing the team of spokespeople ranging from Vancouver to Rimouski; and corporate portfolios including finance, legal services, privacy & security, operations, and regulatory affairs. Shawn spent his 20s working as a reporter and editor at community newspapers across B.C.
Maria Flip, writer for Fabian Dawson Media, peopletravelfood.com and seawestnews.com, is based out of Athens and Berlin. She recently published her first poetry collection on Amazon KDP and is working on her first fiction novel. Maria grew up in rural Greece, therefore relocating to the capital was a big change for her. After many years as a barista and after a brief career as an art curator, she decided to accept her destiny and devote herself in the monastic life of writing. When she is not attending jazz concerts across Europe, and writing her book, she teaches Spanish, Greek and English, and practices yoga. Maria also writes under the alias of CAROLINE
Tash Bacchus is a recent University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Women and Gender Studies. She is trained in the areas of ethical research, academic writing, public speaking, and seminar instruction. For the time being, she resides in Vancouver and spends her days-off reading, eating, thinking, and writing.
Sam McLeod is a travel and food writer, and digital media marketer based in Vancouver. Her work has taken her across Asia, Caribbean, North America, South America and Africa. She has a curious nature for searching out and documenting new places, spaces and food. ‘Sam’ is also an avid photographer whose work on sustainable, organic and local/seasonal foods has been internationally acclaimed.

Tess Bacchus is a writer based in Chicago who graduated with a B.A. in History and Philosophy. She also studied American Literature. She was, briefly, a PhD student where she focused on American politics in African American literature. Tess grew up, and lived until 17, in Guyana, South America.

She was best known as an opinion columnist and editorial writer for the Calgary Herald.
Jennie Orton has been a freelance writer for 12 years in the Vancouver and Calgary area. When not writing adventure fiction about her dog, she covers music, film, travel, and the fruits of the food and beverage scene in Vancouver. She lives downtown with her handsome partner and with the memory of her Pomeranian muse.
